Plot:

This four-part series is inspired by Hideo Yokoyama's bestselling novel, The Kidnapping of 1964; set primarily in Glasgow, it tells the story of kidnapping, corruption, betrayal and the search for the truth as Chris/Michelle O'Neill, a police detective, learns the shocking truth about the disappearance of a local girl, Julie Mackie; a notorious cold case that has divided the police internally. Now, he is devastated by the news of his daughter's disappearance, and is approached by a reporter who tells him that Julie's disappearance was the result of a fatal mistake. Retracing the case, he also discovers a series of mistakes, corruption and unbridled ambition. Meanwhile, Michelle takes matters into her own hands to find their daughter. Using the skills she learned as a former undercover agent, she takes increasing risks and follows leads into the criminal world she once escaped; where crime and extortion have the power to penetrate deep into the highest levels of power.
