Plot:
Dorothea (Annette Bening) raises her son Jamie (Lucas Jade Zumann) by herself, and only she knows the hardship and bitterness. Jamie is deeply in love with a girl named Julie (Elle Fanning), but Julie, who has had physical relationships with many people, wants to seek spiritual attachment in Jamie. Although the two often sleep in the same bed, they still have difficulty maintaining pure friendship, which makes Jamie feel very distressed. Jamie, who is gradually entering puberty, shows some characteristics that make Dorothea worried. In order to help her son smoothly through this special period, Dorothea finds the tenant Abby (Greta Gerwig), hoping that she can give Jamie some help. At the same time, Dorothea has never given up hope. She longs to find a reliable man to become her husband and Jamie's father.
