Plot:
The solar activity is abnormal, the energy balance system inside the earth is facing collapse, the Mayan prophecy is about to come true, and mankind will suffer a catastrophe. Governments of various countries have joined forces to secretly build the ark, hoping to escape this catastrophe. Jackson (John Cusack), who makes a living by writing science fiction novels, has a series of strange things happen when he takes his children to Yellowstone Park for the weekend, and meets the neurotic Charlie (Woody Harrelson), who tells him that the end of the world is coming. Accompanied by volcanic eruptions, strong earthquakes and tsunamis, Jackson leads his family to drive a temporarily rented plane out of the city that is instantly shrouded by the haze of death, and begins to look for the ark that Charlie says governments are jointly secretly building. At the critical moment of life and death, some great ghosts will stand out, and some selfish hearts will be nowhere to hide. When thousands of creatures come to the ark manufacturing base through various methods, the limited capacity of the ark causes unprecedented panic. In the end, the remaining people use mutual love and respect for life to overcome the difficulties. This film is called an upgraded version of "The Day After Tomorrow", with an investment of more than 200 million US dollars. It is the latest masterpiece of disaster film master Roland Emmerich.
