"In the Aisle" premiered in the competition section of the Berlin Film Festival in 2018. Stuber opens a window to ordinary workers in eastern Germany. Daily life is transformed into magical realism, and the tender love story is temporarily turned to the level of hope. Shy and withdrawn Christian loses his job and then goes to work in a wholesale market, where he is taken care of by Bruno, who is like a father in the beverage department. Christian falls in love with Marion, who often jokes with him, but Marion is already married, and Christian's feelings for her seem to be fruitless.
