Battlestar Galactica was first broadcast as a miniseries on the American Sci-Fi Channel on December 8, 2003, and then the first season premiered on the British SkyOne TV channel on October 18, 2004. The series has won seven awards, including three Saturn Awards in 2006, and 11 nominations, including five Emmy Awards.
