Plot:
In the early 1960s, in a provincial capital city in Northeast China, there lived several carefree but hungry teenagers. Wang Xiaosong, Liu Zhenxing, Han Debao, and Xu Ke were naughty and mischievous, advancing and retreating together, causing trouble every day. Zhang Meng, who came from a high-ranking cadre family, was dissatisfied with their behavior and often made small reports. The quiet and virtuous Hao Mei stood aside silently, watching the teenagers rush through their gray childhood. After that, various movements came one after another, never stopping. The teenagers grew up in the sound of slogans. They responded to the leaders' call to go to the countryside and return to the city, experiencing the vicissitudes of reform and opening up. Friends of the past gathered and left, moving towards different paths, savoring the taste of life. Against the backdrop of the times, individuals are so small, but they burst out with a different kind of brilliance... This film is adapted from the original work of the same name by the writer Liang Xiaosheng.
