The third season is adapted from "Those Who Leave, Those Who Stay" in the original "Neapolitan Quartet". Lila got married at the age of 16 and has a young son. She left her husband and comfortable life and now works in a factory with difficult conditions; Elena left the city, graduated from Pisa Normal School, and published a successful novel, which allowed her to enter a wealthy and elegant world. In different ways, they challenged the boundaries of life of suffering, ignorance and submission. The story came to the 1970s, when the world was full of hope, uncertainty, oppression, and unimaginable challenges. The two women moved forward in the opportunities brought by social change, always paradoxically closely connected.
