Plot:
The series is based on Leonie Frieda's book "Catherine de Medici: Renaissance Queen of France". Justin Haythe, screenwriter of "Revolutionary Road", is responsible for the script, and Stacie Passon is the director of several episodes including the premiere. Catherine de Medici, an Italian noble and Queen of France. She was the wife of King Henry II of the Valois dynasty and the mother of the three subsequent kings. She had a huge influence in France in the 16th century. Catherine was identified as a bland and insignificant foreigner. As an orphan, she was married to the French court at the age of 14. She was expected to bring a large dowry and give birth to many heirs.
