This drama is adapted from the Douban Reading serial novel "Nine Righteous People", written by Li Bojian. The story revolves around a famous "Smoke and Rain Embroidery Tower": the girl Lin Rulan (played by Hu Yixuan) gambles her reputation and sues the owner of the embroidery tower, Wu Lian (played by Qiao Zhenyu), despite the opposition of her best friend Meng Wan (played by Wu Qian).
