Plot:
Toto (Thomas Godet) from a commoner family and Alfred (Hugo Harold Harrison) from a wealthy family next door were born in the same hospital on the same day. Toto firmly believes that because of a fire in the hospital, their two babies were taken away by their parents by mistake. The affluent life that should have belonged to him was taken away by Alfred. Of course, whenever he mentioned this, he would inevitably be beaten by Alfred. With the unexpected death of his father, Toto's hatred for Alfred's family gradually deepened. Hatred did not satisfy and compensate him, but instead made his life forever shrouded in shadows... This film won the Best Foreign Language Film Award at the 1991 Cannes Film Festival Youth Award, the Best Foreign Language Film Award at the 1992 French César Award, the Best Actor (Michel Bouquet), Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay and Youth Film Award at the 1991 European Film Festival, and the Best Film and Best Screenplay at the 1992 Portugal Fantasy International Film Festival.
