Plot:
This film tells the story of the Lu family in the New Territories of Hong Kong behind the scenes of real estate development transactions. The story begins when villager Luo Yongjiu (played by Louis Koo) drunkenly hits and kills his brother Lu Yongyuan (played by Chin Kar Lok), and Lu Yongyuan's wife Yuehua (played by Zhou Xun) has been irreconcilable with him ever since. Luo Yongjiu was released from prison five years later and found that the head of the Lu family, Lu Hantao (played by Kenneth Tsang), his daughter Lu Yongyu (played by Michelle Ye), and his son-in-law (played by Huang Lei) already own the largest real estate company in the New Territories, while the Lu brothers Lu Jinqiang (played by Andy Lau) and Lu Yongfu (played by Alex Fong) are frantically expanding their power. Soon, the Hong Kong real estate tycoon invited Luo Yongjiu to "discuss big things together." At the same time, the mysterious man Azu (played by Daniel Wu) revealed to Yuehua a secret message obtained through wiretapping. He told Yuehua that if she wanted to take revenge in this deceiving conspiracy, she must follow his instructions... So several forces began to act secretly. This film is the third in the "Overheard" series, but apart from the core idea of "overheard", the story has nothing to do with the first two.
