Plot:
More than 2,000 years ago, the Han Dynasty sent troops to guard the border to resist foreign invasions. General Zhang Anliang (played by Tuo Zonghua) led his troops to capture the prince of a foreign tribe alive, hoping to use hostages to lure the enemy. His subordinate Lu Shenkang (played by Odagiri Joe) was kind by nature, resisted bloody massacres, and raised young wolves as companions. However, Zhang Anliang valued Lu Shenkang very much. After a fierce battle, Zhang Anliang was wounded and left the team, and ordered Lu Shenkang to command the three armies. Due to heavy snow closing the mountain, Lu Shenkang had to set up camp in Kalei Village. He accidentally found a foreign woman (played by Maggie Q) in the tent, and the two had a dispute. Lu Shenkang lost control for a while, raped her, and kept her secretly in the tent. Through contact, the two slowly developed feelings. The woman told a legend of a man turning into a wolf: when a male wolf and a female wolf mate, if they are peeped at, they will chase the peeper until he dies. Will this legend come true, leading to the exposure of their affair?... This film is adapted from the novel by Japanese writer Yasushi Inoue. It is the first time that Tian Zhuangzhuang has directed a historical masterpiece, and Wang Zhiwen voices Odagiri Joe.
