Set between the first and second films of Saw, a sick and desperate John Kramer (Tobin Bell) travels to Mexico for a dangerous experimental surgery in the hope of miraculously curing cancer, only to discover that the entire operation is a scam designed to defraud the most vulnerable. With a new purpose, the notorious serial killer, Jigsaw, returns to his old ways and begins to take on these scammers.
