Wanmixi Village, located on Jinniu Mountain, is a well-known poor village with less than 6 mu of arable land per capita, poor natural conditions, poor transportation, and very backward living standards. In 2016, Pu Quansheng, deputy mayor of Zuolongtan Town, Yongcheng County, and an outstanding young cadre, came to Wanmixi Village to serve as the village party secretary, and urban female reporter Shaou also came here to participate in poverty alleviation. The two flexibly used various policies of "targeted poverty alleviation", focusing on "helping the poor first with their will" on the one hand and "transfusing blood into hematopoiesis" on the other hand, and led the villagers to establish mulberry silkworm bases, tea cooperatives and other industries in Wanmixi Village, solving various problems such as accurate identification of poor households, left-behind children, and relocation. At the same time, they promoted the smooth start of the Jinniu Mountain Tunnel and completely opened the western gate of Yongcheng County. The bold practice and innovative thinking of the two not only cured the villagers' mentality of waiting and relying on others in the poor villages, but also realized the scale of rural industries and improved the farmers' ability to resist risks. Finally, in the final year of the country's poverty alleviation campaign, Wanmixi Village successfully lifted itself out of poverty, realizing the long-cherished wish of several generations of poverty alleviation cadres in one fell swoop.
