In order to save his sick mother (Rosario Dawson), Gunnar (Lonnie Chavez) sets out to find the mythical figure who holds the secret of immortality - the Water Man. After getting the help of a mysterious local girl, Jo (Amiel Miller), they travel together to the remote Mustang Town Forest. But as they go deeper, the forest becomes more and more strange and dangerous. Gunnar's father (David Oyelowo) is their only hope for rescue. He will stop at nothing to find them and will discover his son's true identity in the process.
