CBS announced that it has booked a supernatural pilot series "Evil" by Robert and Michelle King, the creators of "The Good Wife". The show will describe the struggle between science and religion. "Evil" tells the story of Kristen Benoist (played by Katja Herbers), a skeptical female clinical psychologist, who forms a team with a pastor in training and a blue-collar contractor. They will work together to investigate whether some miracles, enchantments or other supernatural events can be explained by science or are truly supernatural phenomena. "Luke Cage" protagonist Mike Colter plays Pastor David Acosta, who is assigned by the church to investigate whether supernatural phenomena have scientific basis, and Aasif Mandvi plays the blue-collar carpenter Ben, who is the first supernatural skeptic recruited by David; he himself is a talent for exposing the truth behind the "haunted" incident, but what happens in the show will shake his beliefs. Michael Emerson of Person of Interest plays Townsend, a seemingly trustworthy good man, but in fact, as an expert witness for the defense of a major murder case, he may be a follower of the dark side. Robert and Michelle King have also produced the CBS series Brain Dead, but the show was cancelled due to low ratings.
