In Season 5, Diane is forced to ask herself if it's right for her to help Liz run an African-American law firm after losing two top lawyers. Marissa and the firm become entangled with Hal Wackner (Mandy Patinkin), an everyman Chicagoan who decides to open his own courtroom in the backyard of a copy shop. Cush Jumbo and Delroy Lindo are confirmed to return in the premiere as Lucca and Adrian, bringing their respective character's storylines to a fitting end.
