Plot:
During the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty, the newly enthroned Emperor Daoguang Minning (played by Chan Kam Hung) is about to confer the title of Empress Yuan Wan (played by Myolie Wu). On the day of the ceremony, the Queen Mother (played by Wong Suk Yee) ordered Prince Mu's wife Yilan (played by Jessica Hsuan) to be buried alive with her husband. Prince Mu's wife, Mian Yi, disappeared while suppressing the rebellion in the northwest, and her life and death are unknown. The Queen Mother determined that Yilan was an ominous woman. Minning had long had feelings for Yilan. Upon learning that Yilan was in trouble, Minning actually abandoned Yuanwan to save Yilan's life, and made a decision that shocked the court and the public: to make Yilan his concubine. Yuanwan, who originally had no hostility towards Yilan, hated Yilan because she lost face at the ceremony, and Minning's decision to make Yilan his concubine deeply stimulated her. Under the instigation of her mother, Yuanwan is determined to eradicate Yilan and all those who threaten her position as queen. Yilan originally had no intention of fighting, but was repeatedly involved in the palace fighting waves. A drama of the fate of women in the Qing Dynasty was staged. Who can stand out in the harem struggle and eventually reach the pinnacle of power and become the "King of All Phoenixes"? This drama is the 44th anniversary celebration drama of Hong Kong TVB in 2011.
