Plot:
Johnny Depp will star in the thriller "Minamata" as Eugene Smith, one of the most famous photojournalists in history. The film is directed by Andrew Levitas ("Lullaby") and will start shooting in Japan in January next year. It will also be filmed in Serbia. It tells the story of Smith, a photographer famous for his works during World War II, who had already retired in 1971, but was commissioned by Life magazine editor Ralph Graves to pick up his camera again and go to Japan to record the current situation of the "Minamata disease" caused by mercury pollution, which shocked the world, and the government's cover-up. At that time, the incident had entered the stage of determining responsibility, and the victims were negotiating with the company.
