Plot:
In 1941, the German army was about to invade the Soviet Union. Wilhelm and his brother Friedhelm responded to Hitler's call and enlisted in the army, and were about to go to the front. Charlotte, a young woman, was determined to serve the country and became a nurse. She would also go to the battlefield to rescue the wounded. Greta, a young woman, was beautiful and lively, with a moving voice. She hoped to become a female singer one day. Her lover was a Jew, Viktor, the son of a tailor. The five were best friends. They sang and danced, drank and celebrated on the eve of their departure, and agreed to meet again on Christmas. Before they separated, they were all high-spirited young people; after they separated, their fate was closely linked to the war. For this generation of Germans, this is the memory of their fathers and mothers about the war.
