Plot:
Jackie Justice (Halle Berry) is a mixed martial arts fighter who retired from the sport in disgrace. After years of bad luck, resentment and regret, she is finally persuaded by her manager and boyfriend Desi (Adan Cantor) to participate in a brutal underground fight and attract the attention of a fighting league organizer (Shamier Anderson), who promises to get Jackie back in the octagon. But when Manny (Danny Boyd Jr.) shows up at her door, she is destined to embark on a cold and warm road to redemption: Manny is her son, who was abandoned shortly after birth. In her directorial debut from Academy Award winner Halle Berry and starring an ensemble cast that includes Andrae Lennox, Sheila Artem, Valentina Shevchenko and Stephen McKinley Henderson, WHITE UP tells the story of a fighter's inspirational journey to rediscover her power both in and out of the ring when everyone thought Jackie was done for.
