Plot:
Young Chen Qiushui (played by Chen Kun) is a tutor for Wang Biyun's (played by Vivian Hsu) younger brother Yu Meng. He is clear and unrestrained, and has a happy learning method. The two sing and learn English together, which is simple and happy, and they soon fall in love. However, Chen Qiushui is a leftist and must flee to the mainland for refuge. Although it seems to be a short separation, Qiushui still secretly vowed to spend his life with Wang Biyun before leaving, and vowed to be loyal to him. But the separation seems to be very long. Qiushui even lost contact with Taiwan, but waiting and missing are still buried in his heart. Wang Jindi (played by Li Bingbing), a nurse in the army, confessed her love to him and started pursuing him. After the war, Wang Jindi followed Qiushui to Tibet and took care of him all the way. Qiushui also tried to find Biyun many times but failed. He decided to hide his old feelings in his heart and live up to Wang Jindi who was determined to follow him. The two got married, but the mockery of fate was not far away. Qiushui didn't know that Wang Biyun, who was in Taiwan, never married and waited all her life.
