The story takes place in Hong Kong in the 1940s, when the world was in turmoil and heroes were in power. Xu Daguang (played by Lam Ka-tung) is a clerk at Guangchanglong Grain and Oil Wholesale Store. By chance, he got a mysterious umbrella, and the female ghost Xiao Furong (played by Zhou Haimei) attached to the umbrella appeared, thus starting a human-ghost love affair full of sadness and resentment. It turns out that Xiao Furong was the lover of Guangchanglong's eldest son Lu Yunguang (played by Lam Ka-tung) before his death. Later, Lu Yunguang was killed by Lu Yunchang (played by Jin Xingxian) and Lu Yunlong (played by Li Chengchang). The two brothers then naturally took over Lu Yunguang's position and became the shopkeepers of Guangchanglong. Xiao Furong accidentally learned that Xu Daguang was the reincarnation of Lu Yunguang, and the appearance of Xu Daguang also made the two shopkeepers of Guangchanglong feel a crisis.
