Plot:
A Feng Shui wizard, who is good at changing the destiny of the heavens, reversed the fate of Empress Dowager Cixi and planted the seeds of a century of disaster... During the Xianfeng period, the Qing Dynasty was in decline. Lian Baoshan (Law Lok-lam), the minister of the Imperial Astronomical Bureau, was ordered by the court to find a way to continue the destiny of the Qing Dynasty. The young man He Chong (He Baosheng) was originally a temple priest in a small temple (a profession in the temple engaged in temple reading, interpretation, and fortune-telling), but in fact he had no knowledge of Feng Shui and numerology. Together with the old temple priest (Wong San), he deceived the believers and made a living by doing small tricks. After a trick was exposed by Lian Huaji (Chen Songling), who was proficient in Feng Shui and numerology, Chong and Ji became enemies and even competed with each other in Feng Shui layout. Although Chong had never studied Feng Shui and numerology, he was gifted since childhood and had a magical "touch" and had unique insights into Feng Shui metaphysics. In the battle with Ji, he was not completely at a disadvantage. Unconsciously, the two of them developed feelings for each other. Later, He Chong was appreciated by his father Lian Baoshan (Law Lok-lam) and was selected to enter the palace. He was assigned to lead a team to find a good feng shui cave called "Dragonfly Diving Water" so as to continue the fate of the Qing Dynasty and revive the prestige of the Qing Dynasty. But Shan was soon surprised that Chong's talent was better than his, so he took advantage of Xianfeng's love for his daughter Lian Huaji to provoke Xianfeng's suspicion of Chong and exiled Chong to a dangerous and barren land. By chance, Chong actually found the clues of the Dragonfly Diving Water Cave. Chong took this opportunity to return to the court and deal with Shan again. After returning to the palace, Chong met Lan'er, who had just been taken as a concubine, and later became Cixi (Leung Siu-bing). Seeing that Lan Er had suffered all kinds of grievances and was unhappy, he felt pity for her and used the power of Feng Shui metaphysics to change her fate and help her get rid of her old enemy, the minister of state Su Shun, so that she could be favored by Emperor Xianfeng and escape her painful fate. Ji's father Lian Baoshan also died in this struggle. Ji could not forgive Chong and jumped off the cliff during his father's funeral. After Cixi came to power, she betrayed her promise to reform and strengthen the country, and even ignored her original kindness. She used the means of "killing the dog after the rabbit dies and hiding the bow after the bird is dead" to deal with the righteous men (Li Yaojing, Wang Shuqi, and He Wanying) who helped her get the position today, but let Chong go. Chong never thought that his desire to strengthen the country and his temporary pity for Cixi would sow the seeds of China's future century-old disaster and open up his own grievances and hatreds in the future.
