Plot:
On an ordinary day in New York, the old detective Jack Mosley (Bruce Willis), who was about to retire, received a thankless task: to travel through 16 blocks and escort a prisoner to court to testify. This should have been an extremely easy task. The drive from the police station to the court only took 15 minutes, and the only trouble seemed to be the endless nonsense of the criminal Eddie (Mos Def). However, the truth is far more than that. An assassination attempt on Eddie made Jack discover the truth behind the scenes: the so-called testimony in court was just a cover. The real situation was that a group of corrupt policemen led by Frank (David Morse), a colleague and old friend of the police station, took the opportunity of Jack escorting Eddie to eliminate the tainted witness. After experiencing an inner struggle, Jack protected Eddie in order to seek justice in his heart, but became the target of public criticism of the New York Police Department.
