Plot:
Hua Tuo (Lam Man Lung) was extremely intelligent and fascinated with medicine since childhood. By chance, he became a disciple of the famous doctor Zhang Zhongjing. Once, Guan Yunchang (Yin Yangming) brought his fellow villagers to seek medical treatment. Hua Tuo found that the patient's symptoms were different and not ordinary colds, so he combined "Treatise on Febrile Diseases" and "Treatise on Nourishing Yin" and successfully developed a method to treat plague. Unfortunately, the people were superstitious about ghosts and gods, and the villains were successful, so they harmed Hua Tuo in many ways, causing him to be killed. Shi Jing's eldest daughter Zhang Miaoxin (Ng Wing-wai) fell in love with Hua Tuo and decided to marry him and flee with her husband. After Hua Tuo moved to Xuchang, he treated all patients without discrimination, no matter how seriously ill the patient was, he would do his best to save them, but he often failed. He was rated as a "doctor who kills people" and his life went from bad to worse. Later, Hua Tuo cured Cao Cao's (Felix Wong) child's stubborn illness for many years, and was appreciated by Cao Cao. He was appointed as the director of the Imperial Hospital and began to write a medical encyclopedia. The good times did not last long. Cao gradually revealed his treacherous nature and ordered Tuo to make poison to kill Guan's soldiers. Tuo was not ashamed of Cao's actions and surrendered to Guan. Cao suffered a headache and became angry. He threatened to kill more than 300 people in the Imperial Hospital and forced Tuo to return to Xuchang to treat him. Tuo knew that this trip was more dangerous than good. Could this be the arrangement of fate?
