Yukiko Makabe (played by Yuki Amami), the former director of the Special Crime Investigation Department (SIT) of the Metropolitan Police Department, was impeached and accused by her peers for her female identity and capable and straightforward style. She was then transferred by the Criminal Minister Masanao Satohara (played by Masao Kusakari) to the newly established Emergency Case Correspondence Interrogation Team of the First Investigation Division. The department is headed by Kajiyama Shengli (played by Tetsuji Tanaka), and there are three uncles under his command, including Susumu Hishimoto (played by Dot Dot), Zenjiro Nakata (played by Ren Osugi) and Haruo Koishikawa (played by Fumiyo Kohinata).
