"RWBY" (pronounced the same as Ruby) is an original web animation that premiered in July 2013. R, W, B, and Y are the initials of the English words red, white, black, and yellow, representing the theme colors of the four heroines. It was produced by the American Rooster Teeth Productions animation studio RWBY team, and the original author and former director was the late animator Monty Oum. The first season is divided into 3 volumes, vol.1 and vol.2 have been completed, and vol.3 was broadcast in October 2015.
