In Edinburgh at the end of the 19th century, in an extremely cold winter, a pregnant woman in pain found Dr. Madeleine (voiced by Marie Vincent), who was called a witch. Soon, a weak baby was born, but the little guy's heart was frozen, so Madeleine installed a mechanical heart for him. The child's biological mother left without saying goodbye, and Madeleine raised him as her own son and named him Jack (voiced by Mathias Malzieu).
