Adapted from real social events in Taiwan, the film tells the story of two ambitious lawyers from the Judicial Reform Commission who meet a rookie lawyer who is eager to prove his ability and comes to them for help with a difficult case. This case is the murder case of a wealthy businessman that shocked the society. The case has been sentenced to death seven times, setting a record for the most appeals in Taiwan's judicial history, and also prompted the establishment of the Life Protection Alliance.
