It was originally forbidden for the gods to fall in love with mortals. However, San Shengmu (voiced by Xu Fan) in the Heavenly Palace insisted on falling in love with Liu Yanchang, a scholar in the world. Despite the opposition of Erlang Shen (voiced by Jiang Wen), San Shengmu took the artifact Baolian Lantern to the mortal world to privately marry Liu Yanchang and gave birth to a son named Chenxiang. Seven years of peace and happiness passed quickly. One day, Erlang Shen suddenly came down to the world and threatened San Shengmu with Xiao Chenxiang to hand over the Baolian Lantern and was pressed under Huashan. A beautiful family was broken. Chenxiang learned about his life experience from the mouth of the land god. In order to take back the Baolian Lantern and rescue his mother, he embarked on a difficult journey to find his mother. After years of training, Chenxiang grew into a brave boy, and under the guidance of Sun Wukong (voiced by Chen Peisi), he obtained a magic axe. In the end, Baolian Lantern and Chenxiang merged into one, defeated Erlang Shen, split Huashan, and rescued his mother.
